Why a UV-IR² Flame Detector? UV-IR² Flame Detectors are efficient, well proven and least susceptible to false alarm criteria for many applications.
This detector has been designed for use under cover, to detect flame quickly and efficiently, with minimal false alarms and at a fraction of the cost of high specification units.
Not to be used in an officially designated hazardous areas or where a high specification detector is required. |
|
Principle of operation The Model 302 consists of two Flame Detectors, an ultraviolet (UV) detector and a dual infrared (IR²) detector. Both detectors must activate and agree to an alarm situation before energising the alarm relay.
Sequence of Operation The UV detector on seeing flame activates an audible alarm for approximately 5 seconds and provides power to the IR² detector. This operation will cease if no flame is seen by the IR² detector.
If the IR² detector sees flame, the red LED’s on both detectors illuminate, the audible alarm continues, the alarm relay contacts close and the open collector output is activated.
On removal of the flame, both detectors remain activated for a few seconds and then shut down to the quiescent monitoring state.
Speed of response is subject to size of fire type of fuel and distance from the detector. |
