INTRODUCTION
Model 103 IR˛ Flame Detector is suitable for connection to a conventional, two wire fire alarm control panel.
Traditional UV and IR flame detectors, in their singular form, are susceptible to false alarms. These false alarm sources differ for each type of flame detector, however with the Model 103, both sensors must see flame prior to the detector initiating an alarm.
PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
The microprocessor based circuitry of the Model 103 is designed to provide protection against false alarms and the unit must observe a fire indication for a set ‘predetermined threshold’ period before indicating a fire condition to the fire control panel. A latching circuit is fitted inside the Model 103 with a LED indicator illuminated on the detector until a 'reset' signal is sent from the control panel.
INSTALLATION
The Model 103 Dual IR Flame Detector may be used to supplement smoke and heat detectors on the same zone especially in the coverage of high compartments where unobstructed line of sight is obtainable. Where possible, avoid positioning the detector looking at direct sunlight and other spurious sources of IR. |

· Two IR sensors - minimal false alarms · Microprocessor based electronics · Cone of vision up to 100 degrees · Red LED latches ON in alarm · LED pulses in fault condition · Connects direct to zone · Low quiescent current |

BASE COMPATIBILITY
The Model 103 Dual IR Flame Detector is supplied complete with a standard mounting base. Wiring to the detector is a simple two wire method, with connections to a normal zone pair. There is also a facility for remote switching an LED indicator via the 'P' switching terminal. |
