The Flame Spotter detects flames and sparks in boat engine compartments / rooms very rapidly in 2 to 3 seconds and may assist in preventing ignition of flammable fuel vapours. Although the Flame Spotter is similar in appearance to a smoke detector, this is the only similarity. A smoke detector relies on the smoke being presented to it by the direction of ventilation. The Flame Spotter, like the human eye, only has to see the flame or sparks to activate thereby providing extra time to extinguish the fire or escape. |
