Details of this unique low cost high speed Flame Detector for use in leisure boats has been published in some of the major UK boating magazines.  Motorboat & Yachting have given the Flame Spotter a very favourable review in their October 2011 edition, page 106.

Well tried and proven over a 10 year period and continues to be purchased for new build lifeboats.

The Flame Spotter detects flames and sparks in boat engine compartments / rooms very rapidly in 2 to 3 seconds and may assist  in preventing ignition of flammable fuel vapours.  Although the Flame Spotter is similar in appearance to a smoke detector, this is the only similarity.  A smoke detector relies on the smoke being presented to it by the direction of ventilation.  The Flame Spotter, like the human eye, only has to see the flame or sparks to activate thereby providing extra time to extinguish the fire or escape.

As we are now in or 24th year of specialising in Flame Detection, we must be doing something right!  We offer a full range of both low cost and high specification detectors.
